Accommodation During Summer School

DORMITORY APPLICATIONS DURING SUMMER PERIOD

Students (SCHOLARSHIP / NON-SCHOLARSHIP) wishing to stay in Dormitories during 2016-17 Summer Period will be able to apply through Summer Period Online Dormitory Application System STARS / BILDORMPrep-Class Students will be able to apply for required periods between May 24 – August 29, 2017, while Intermediate Class Students between June 05 – August 29, 2017, in accordance with the availability status of Dormitory/Floor and room types. Applications can be processed in either of the following methods:

PRIVILEGED Application (I want to remain in my current room):
Only available as of May 20, 2017 09:00 hrs.-until May 24, 2017 17:00 hrs. for Prep-Class Students, and as of May 20, 2017 09:00 hrs.- until June 05, 2017 17:00 hrs. for Intermediate Class Students.

Only available for students currently residing in Summer Period On-Duty Dorms/Floors (List of Dormitories On-duty/Floor will become definite by May 20, 2017), and wishing to continue in their current rooms during the Summer Period - without a break- by the end of Spring Semester (to be charged starting from May 24, 2017 for Prep-Class Students; and  June 05, 2017 for Intermediate Class Students). This option will not be available for applications to be processed after above stated dates.

Students preferring to apply via PRIVILEGED method should finalize their applications by paying their Summer Period Dormitory fees online through the system by a valid Credit Card - until below stated deadlines:

Prep-Class StudentsMay 24, 2017 until 17:00 hrs.; Intermediate Class StudentsJune 05, 2017 until 17:00 hrs.

Applications will automatically be CANCELLED by the system, in case payments are not materialized until stated deadlines. Students (SCHOLARSHIP / NON-SCHOLARSHIP) failing to vacate their rooms and complete their check-out procedures until above stated deadlines will be penaltied at the Summer Period daily Dormitory Fees - for each day of extension. Rooms abandoned without completing the check-out procedures will be vacated by Dormitory Administration within 3 days at the latest; and no responsibility will be beared for belongings left inside the rooms.

GENERAL Application (Among available rooms in Summer Period On-Duty Dorms/Floors):
Available until August 29, 2017 17:00hrs.

GENERAL Application is a prepaid Dormitory Room purchase method; displaying the current pool of vacant / available places in Summer Period On-Duty Dorms/Floors for the required period, and presenting due alternatives for students’ preferences, at the time of application.

Students to apply via GENERAL method should make their preferences among the displayed alternatives in Summer Period On-Duty Dorms/Floors available at the time of their application(Dormitory No / Room Type) and finalize their applications by paying due fees through the system by a valid Credit Card .

Room assignments of students who have completed their applications and processed due payments online through the system will be made with respect to their room type preferences by the selected On-Duty Dormitory Administrations, at the time of check-in.

Currently occupied rooms will remain closed for GENERAL applications -as they will be blocked for PRIVILEGED applications- until May 24, 2017 17:00 hrs. for Prep-Class Students, and June 05, 2017 17:00 hrs. for Intermediate Class Students. For this reason, currently occupied rooms will not be not displayed in the available room types pool, until above stated deadlines.

These rooms will be added into the GENERAL Application pool upon check-out’s of the residents, and become available for GENERAL preferences. All rooms in Summer Period On-Duty Dorms/Floors which have not been purchased by PRIVILEGED (I want to remain in my current room) applicants will as well be added into the availability pool by the ending date of PRIVILEGED (I want to remain in my current room) applications (May 24, 2017 17:00 hrs for Prep-Class Students, and June 05, 2017 17:00 hrs for Intermediate Class Students).

Thus, in case you cannot find your preferred Dorm/Room Type(s) at the time of application; you may delay your application process and re-try as of May 25,2017 for Prep-Class Students; and June 06,2017 for Intermediate Class Students - following the ending day of Spring Term
Dormitory accommodations– as the availability pool is expected to reach its peak, by then.

Some Dormitories that are not on Duty through the Summer Period will remain open until June 18, 2017 for Graduate Students. Thus, students staying in these dormitories will be able to apply to stay in their own rooms until June 18, 2017. Following June 18, 2017, as a considerable number of increase will occur in the availability pool due to the reason that Graduate Students staying in Dormitories On-Duty will vacate their rooms, you may re-try as of June 18, 2017.

SUMMER PERIOD FEE TARIFFS (SCHOLARSHIP/NON-SCHOLARSHIP)

All students except for Comprehensive Scholarship students who have stayed in Dormitories for 1 or 2 full semesters in 2016-17 Academic Year:

Students wishing to stay in dormitories in 2016-17 Academic Year Summer Period will be able to stay by paying the daily fees as specified below. Charges will be made for entire duration of stay; in line with the check-in & check-out dates declared by the student during Summer Period Online Dormitory Application and below stated daily fees:

Comprehensive Scholarship students who have stayed in dormitories for a single semester(either Fall or Spring) in 2016-17 Academic Year - including those who were on exchange studies and could not stay for a single semester:

 students who have stayed in the dormitory for a single semester(either Fall or Spring) in 2016-17 Academic Year and wish to stay during the Summer Period will be able to stay in Dormitories only after making their required fee payment as specified below. Charges will be made for entire duration of stay; in line with the check-in & check-out dates declared by the student during Summer Period Online Dormitory Application and below stated daily fees:

APPLICATION CANCELLATION PROCEDURES

Applications processed via PRIVILEGED (I want to remain in my current room) method:

INTERMEDIATE CLASS STUDENTS:
 In case Intermediate Class Students who have completed their applications by making due payments until June 05, 2017 17:00 hrs., CANCEL their applications until June 09, 2017 17:00 hrs. due to the excuses like course selection and/or unavailability of summer school, they will be refunded for the remaining period. 

PREP-CLASS STUDENTS: In case Prep-Class Students who have completed their applications by making due payments until May 24, 2017 17:00 hrs.CANCEL their applications until May 24, 2017 17:00 hrs., they will be fully refunded.

INTERMEDIATE and PREP-CLASS STUDENTS: In cases of APPLICATION CANCELLATION after stated dates and/or EARLIER CHECK-OUT, no refunds will be made.


Applications processed via GENERAL (Available rooms in Dormitories On-duty/Floors) method:

INTERMEDIATE CLASS STUDENTS:
 In case Intermediate Class Students CANCEL their applications until June 09, 2017 17:00 hrs. due to the excuses like course selection and/or unavailability of summer school, they will be refunded for the remaining period. No refunds will be made for application cancellations to be made after this date. 

PREP-CLASS STUDENTS:
 In case Prep-Class Students who have completed their applications by making due payments until May 242017 17:00 hrs.CANCEL their applications until May 24, 2017 17:00 hrs., they will be fully refunded.

ROOM CATEGORY CHANGE

Throughout Summer Period, no refunds are made in cases of earlier check-out’s or category changes from assigned room type to a lower one.


EARLIER MOVE IN TO DORMITORIES ON-DUTY

Students (including Prep-Class students and Graduate students) residing in the Dormitories that might need to be vacated at an earlier date - at the discretion of the Dormitories Management (due to maintenance works, internal planning, etc.) should vacate their current rooms and move in to Dormitories On-Duty until the date(s) to be specified by Dormitories Management.

EXPLANATORY INFORMATION

  • It is highly recommended that the accommodation periods need to be set as realistic as possible, as Summer Period Dormitory applications are processed through the online Dormitory Room purchase system – enabling to prefer among then-current available Dormitory/Floor and room types and process due payments at the time of application.

    Otherwise; in case of an extension need, it might not be possible to remain in the current room and a Dormitory/Room and/or room type change might be inevitable (some other student might have purchased the same room for the needed extension period).
  • Students processing their Summer Period Dormitory applications are required to submit their signed application print-outs upon checking-in to Dormitories.
  • The earliest check-in time for Dormitories On-Duty is 17:00 hrs.,,and the latest check-out time is 11:00 hrs.. In case the check-out time is exceeded, the student(s) will be responsible for paying the Summer Period daily Dormitory fee of due date.
  • Roommate requests should be submitted to the Administration of Dormitory On-Duty upon check-in. Requests will be evaluated upon availability basis of the rooms.
  • Dormitories Management, at its discretion, reserves its right to make any Dormitory and/or room changes throughout Summer Period.
  • In case Comprehensive Scholarship students who have made their Summer Period Dormitory applications via PRIVILEGED method, would not complete the necessary procedures and make their due payments –if any- until May 24, 2017 17:00 hrs. for Prep-Class Students and June 05,2017 17:00 hrs. for  Intermediate Students, their applications will automatically be CANCELLED and their rooms will become available for other students’ applications.
  • In case Comprehensive Scholarship students who have processed their applications without making any payments would not get their rooms on their declared check-in date, their applications will automatically be CANCELLED by the system.
  • All rules stated in Dormitory Principles and Regulations and Dormitories Consent Form are also valid throughout the Summer Period. In case students are absent for 15 days (without a valid excuse) throughout the Summer Period, their dormitory accommodations will be terminated and no refunds will be made (the electronic card-entry system records will be deemed sufficient proof)
